In the first quarter of 2025, the virtual pet category on iOS in Portugal saw varying performance trends among its top applications. According to Sensor Tower, these apps showcased diverse patterns in downloads, revenue, and active users.

Pengu – Raise Virtual AI Pets from SLAY GmbH experienced a significant surge in weekly downloads, peaking at around 4.4K in early February. The app's weekly revenue also saw an impressive increase, reaching approximately $498 by early March. Active users steadily rose, peaking at 8.9K mid-March before a slight decline towards the end of the quarter.

My Talking Tom by Outfit7 Limited showed a consistent weekly download rate, starting at 743 in late December and gradually decreasing to 265 by the end of March. The app's weekly revenue maintained a stable range, closing the quarter at $87. Active user numbers saw a gradual decline from 10.7K to 7.7K over the quarter.

My Talking Angela, also from Outfit7 Limited, had a steady download trend, starting at 495 and ending at 123. Revenue figures fluctuated slightly, reaching $88 in the third week of March. Active users decreased from 3K to 2.2K throughout the quarter.

Applaydu Play & Discover by FERRERO TRADING LUX S.A. saw a consistent increase in weekly downloads, reaching 555 by the end of March. Active users also rose, peaking at 1.4K in the last week of the quarter, although the app did not generate revenue during this period.

Finally, My Talking Tom 2 from Outfit7 Limited had a fluctuating download trend, starting at 508 and decreasing to 115. Revenue peaked at $130 in late March, while active users remained relatively stable, ending the quarter at 3.2K.
